Ingredients

  • Mashed potatoes: from 4 large potatoes
  • Ground beef: 1 lb
  • Yellow onion: 1 large
  • Garlic: 2 cloves
  • Red bell pepper: 1/2 unit
  • Carrots: 1
  • Salt: 2 tsp
  • Pepper: 1/4 tsp
  • Smoked paprika: 1/2 tbsp
  • Boiled eggs: 2
  • Olive oil: 3 tbsp

Preparation

Prepare homemade mashed potatoes using 4 large potatoes. Use your own method to prepare it. I like to use a potato ricer to make the mashed potatoes smooth.

In a large skillet, add olive oil, minced garlic, cubed red bell pepper, chopped onion, cubed carrot, and turn heat to medium high stirring until onion and bell pepper are soft. Add salt, pepper and smoked paprika. Add ground beef and stir until it is browned. Turn the heat off and put the skilled aside until it is warm.

Pre heat the oven to 375 degrees F.

Cut the boiled eggs in fourths and add them boiled to the meat mixture.

Use an iron skillet or oven dish to arrange the pie. Spray the dish with oil.

Put half of mashed potatoes and form a layer on the bottom of the dish. Add the ground meat mixture. Add the the other half of mashed potatoes.

Put it in the oven until the surface starts to show you brown spots.

Sprinkle the surface with smoked paprika.

Enjoy!

Simply, I love cooking! I cook since I was a child, by helping my mom or my grandma to prepare traditional dishes. My recipes are a fusion of latin American, Italian, and Argentinean food. All the recipes are part of my family’s meals, and friends gatherings.
